The 2nd division matches of the PACA League were played on the Valgarde course on March 26, 27 and 28. In spite of strong Mistral winds and tough challenge from the competition, nothing could prevent the Royal Mougins ladies from winning the finals and the subsequent promotion to the 1st division of the League.
8 girls took part in the hard fought battle. After having made the cut on the Saturday, they were to play against the favourite team from Grand Avignon in the Sunday finals.
The impressive victory against the Grand Avignon team with far lower handicaps was due to the fighting spirit, courage and a superb golfing performance of the Royal Mougins ladies, winning the necessary morning foursomes and afternoon singles.
