Time to say good-bye

The time has come for me to say farewell to the position as General Manager of Royal Mougins Golf Club, returning to the ranks of ordinary Members and to start playing golf again.

The management team has achieved a lot during the past two and a half years, but, unfortunately, not everything we had in mind from the start has seen the light of day. The financial turmoil was not very much in our favour, but in spite of all that we have succeeded in creating a solid base for the future.
The performance of every department within RMGC has improved tremendously, thanks to everybody working together as a team.
A big hand and thanks to all the department heads. It was not always easy - but we did it!

Trying to find the balance between the interest of the Members and the business part of RMGC is not always easy. Members are the most important factor of our Club but there is also a big part, which needs to be treated as a business. I sincerely hope that we have managed to establish this delicate balance.  We have had many discussions, sometimes tough ones, but in general I am looking back on many positive dialogues.
Thanks you very much to you all for your understanding, your help and positive criticism.

Jurgen Wondergem,a true professional, is taking over from me on January 16th. He comes with a lot of experience having spent the last couple of years as general manager of  a similar set up as RMGC.
I am very confident that he will bring the quality as well as the service of RMGC up to a higher level.  I wish Jurgen all the success in the world, and I hope that you will treat him the same way as you have treated me.

Royal Mougins Golf Club is a pure gem. The ambiance, the atmosphere is incredible!! The terrace is fabulous and so is the food. We have a challenging and never dull golf course. There is no match.
LET’S DO OUR UTMOST TO KEEP IT THAT WAY!!

Warm Regards
John
