One of the highlights on the busy Sports Calendar is the yearly Men vs. Ladies competition, which was played on June 12 on a close to perfect course in ideal weather conditions.
The 56 contestants were paired according to gender, and the format of play was two-ball, better-ball match play.
The ladies came highly motivated as they wanted the revenge the trashing received by the men during earlier meetings. And as the results started to come in, for a while it looked like 2011 should be the year when the ladies beat the men for the first time. During the lively prize giving on the terrace, Mikael did everything he could to prolong the suspense: “One victory for the men, one for the ladies, one for the ladies, one for the men, match halved...”
Before the result of the last match was pronounced, the two teams were even – but in the end, the ladies didn’t quite make it this year either: The final match went to the men, who won the 2011 edition of the Men vs. Ladies competition by 7 1/2 to 6 1/2.
There is no doubt, however, that the female half of the membership will practise even harder during the coming 12 months in order to beat the opposite sex in 2012!
